It was amazing. It was a group of beautiful, passionate and talented women. It was about the conversations we are unable to have. It was about the conversations we don't have nearly often enough. About the ones we have too much of, and the ones that should disappear altogether. It was about reaching out, about forming a community, about empowerment, about love, and about strength. About VAGINAS.
In a conversation with a friend yesterday, I confessed that I have learnt more from being part of, and watching the Vagina Monologues in this weekend, than I've learnt in class all semester. It's a different kind of learning. A deeper learning, a learning that is shaking away societal pressures, rigid tradition, the way I was made to think of myself, of women, of vaginas, and of the feminine experience as a whole.
